FibreOctave moves to Bill Richardson Transport World

26th August 2017

The team behind FibreOctave are excited to announce that due to the growth in wearable art entries and the ever increasing demand for tickets, FibreOctave 2017 will be held at Bill Richardson Transport World in Invercargill on Friday 9 June 2017. Set in this unique and apt environment amongst a collection of world class vehicles, the next show will be a spectacle of colour and creativity.

Event Manager Gaye McElroy says “The thrill of seeing FibreOctave come alive on stage in this magnificent setting will be amazing. Our dreams will be realised. It’s also a perfect fit given a collection of wearable art from previous FibreOctave shows is on permanent display at Bill Richardson Transport World.”

A success since inception five years ago, FibreOctave is a spectacular show featuring wearable art, music and dance. It is presented in Invercargill in June each year and has played to a capacity crowd with tickets consistently selling out six weeks in advance. FibreOctave is an artistic experience not to be missed!

FibreOctave offers an opportunity for designers, models, musicians and dancers to take part in a theatrical performance with a multitude of artistry that captivates the audience. This event provides an opportunity to be innovative and creative and encourage designers to think outside the square. Wearable art entries are invited from individuals or groups with a flair for dramatic artistry designed with that X factor that is wearable art. Creativity is only limited by the imagination. Whilst many locals exhibit, the event has also had entries from far and wide including Central Otago, Te Anau, Naseby, Christchurch and Timaru.

A prize will be awarded to the designer of the best overall wearable art exhibit. This fantastic prize package includes air fares and tickets for two to the World of Wearable Art in Wellington in 2017. The brief to those creating wearable art is simple. It has to be art and it has to be wearable. There are no restrictions on materials used which could be new, recycled, reinvented or couture.

Entries open on 10 September 2016 and close on 10 April 2017. All details are on the website www.fibreoctave.co.nz. Tickets will go on sale on 1 February 2017 via www.ticketdirect.co.nz

Corporate tables for eight will be offered.
