History

Transport World is a wheeled collection that has taken nearly 50 years to amass. Starting out as one man's passion and further developed by his family, it now includes two world class automotive museums which house hundreds of classic cars, vintage trucks and motorcycles. 

This man was Bill Richardson. Interested in trucks and transport from a young age, Bill Richardson went on to establish his first transport company in the late 1960's. This company was called Southern Transport. Under his guidance it went from strength to strength and today his company is known as the HWR Group. During his lifetime Bill had to purchase many trucks for his business and he later conceded that sometimes, in his words, 'bought a truck more with our hearts than with our heads.'
