- Thu, Feb. 13, 2020
A spectacular new display brought to the public by the teams behind the world-class collections at Classic Motorcycle Mecca and Bill Richardson Transport World will also honour Begg. With vehicles built in his legendary workshop, ‘George’s Toyshop’, memorabilia from his motorcycling days (including his AJS race bike) and more, the exhibit will offer visitors a fascinating insight into how the Southland engineer reached dizzying heights on the world stage.
Secure your spot at the exhibit's grand opening on the evening of 13 February and enhance your experience: hear from the team behind the collection, rub shoulders with motorsport industry insiders, and more.
The vision: 2021 and beyond
We want the George Begg Classic Speedfest to be a must-see event for everybody. The experience will combine top-notch racing with a retro festival atmosphere. We’re talking plenty of action on and off the track – live music, vintage fashion, plenty of food and drink options to get you in a party mood, and a vibe that is completely unique to Southland.
Long-term, we want the George Begg Classic Speedfest to be an event people just can’t miss.
It’s going to be a petrolhead’s paradise, and we look forward to sharing it with you.
