Transport World takes great pleasure in sharing its experiences with visitors on a daily basis. We thank you in advance for your understanding and compliance with these terms & conditions.
Transport World Expectations
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult supervisor or guardian at all times.
Displays at all locations must not be touched (unless explicitly stated), climbed on or interfered with in any way.
Running is not permitted throughout any Transport World attractions.
Smoking is not permitted within any Transport World attractions. This includes electronic cigarettes.
For your own safety, footwear must be worn when entering all Transport World attractions.
Food or drink may only be consumed in the designated areas i.e. our café’s: The Grille Café, Meccaspresso and the spectator areas at Dig This and our Invercargill Conference and Events spaces.
Eating or drinking within Bill Richardson Transport World, Classic Motorcycle Mecca or on the field at Dig This is not permitted.
Site Facilities and Access
Bill Richardson Transport World and Classic Motorcycle Mecca
Bill Richardson Transport World and Classic Motorcycle Mecca attractions are open from 10.00am – 5.00pm daily.
The Grille Café is onsite at Bill Richardson Transport World and is open from 7.30am – 5.00pm on weekdays. Weekends from 9.00am – 5.00pm. Evening dining is available Wednesday to Saturday from 6.00pm.
Meccaspresso is onsite at Classic Motorcycle Mecca and is open from 9.00am – 5.00pm on weekdays. Weekends from 9.00am – 5.00pm. Evening dining is available Friday nights only from 6.00pm – 11pm.
The Bill Richardson Transport World and Classic Motorcycle Mecca gift shops are open from 10.00am – 5.00pm daily.
Wheelchair access is available throughout Bill Richardson Transport World and Classic Motorcycle Mecca.
Wheelchairs are available for use free of charge at Bill Richardson Transport World and Classic Motorcycle Mecca. There is also a mobility scooter available for hire at Bill Richardson Transport World for $15.00 per two hours. If you would like to guarantee either a wheel chair or mobility scooter for your visit, we recommend contacting Transport World prior to your arrival. We can also arrange for support to meet you at your vehicle should you require this.
Dig This operates seven days a week.
- 9.00am to 5.00pm (Winter Season) April to September, and
- 9.00am to 6.00pm (Summer Season) October to March
The Dig This gift shop is open daily from 9.00am – 5.00pm daily.
Wheelchair access is available to the gift shop and spectator areas at Dig This. There is some limited access to the Mini Dig area of the field only. All other areas of the Dig This field are unsuitable for wheelchair access.
Disabled car parks are available and in close proximity to all Transport World attractions.
First Aid Kits are located at all Transport World attractions.
Baby change stations are located throughout all Transport World attractions.
Car parks are available at all Transport World sites, however, at times it can by busy. Please allow plenty of time to find a suitable car park.
We encourage people to take as many images as they please. However, the use of these images for commercial use is strictly prohibited. Image use for non-commercial purposes, including, social media is permitted.
Transport World prohibits the use of any images that could cause offense or is in anyway derogatory to Transport World. Transport World reserves the right to determine what constitutes offensive or derogatory material.
Ticket Purchase Terms and Conditions
Valid for one year from date of purchase.
All ticket prices and goods are displayed in New Zealand currency.
An email confirmation for online ticket purchases will be sent to the email address supplied at the time of purchase. Transport World accepts no responsibility for email addresses that are entered incorrectly.
Transport World tickets cannot be exchanged for cash.
Admission tickets cannot be exchanged for other Transport World products or services.
Transport World ticket purchases can be used in conjunction with other Transport World Gift Vouchers.
No cash change will be given with gift voucher purchases. Where the full amount is not used a store credit of the remaining amount will be supplied.
You must bring the voucher/tickets with you to gain entry – we cannot accept payment by voucher/tickets if it is not physically present at the time of redemption.
Gift vouchers cannot be used for food or beverage purchases at The Grille Café or Meccaspresso.
All ticket purchases are non-refundable.
Full payment must be made for Dig This activities in order to confirm and secure your reservation.
All participants in the Dig This experience (other than Mini Digs) will be required to undertake an alcohol breath screening test. There is a zero tolerance. Participants who fail this test or refuse to undertake testing will have their reservation cancelled. No refunds will be given.
Mini Dig participants must be four years of age or over. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to operate the other equipment.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled Dig time to complete the pre-activity requirements.
The required safety orientation class starts promptly at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm (also 5pm in the Summer Season only) or the time that your Dig is reserved for. If you are late and miss the class, we may not be able to accommodate your reservation and it will be non-refundable.
All Dig This experiences are for one person per machine at any one time.
All participants must speak or understand English.
For safety reasons all participants must be able to see and hear the on field instructors. This activity would not be suitable to any individual with serious visual and/or hearing impairment.
Reservations may be cancelled and fully refunded if the notice of cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the date of the scheduled activity.
Reservations cancelled 7 – 30 days prior to the scheduled activity will receive a 50 percent refund.
Reservations cancelled within 7 days of the scheduled activity will not be refunded.
Bookings may be rescheduled up to 7 days prior the confirmed booking at no additional cost. This is valid for up to one year from the initial purchase.
Reservations rescheduled within 7 days of the confirmed booking may be subject to an administration fee of $50. Dig This reserves the right to waive this fee at our discretion.
In the event of a cancellation of your reservation by Dig This due to weather, equipment problems, or any other unforeseen circumstances, your reservation will be refunded in full or you will be offered a credit toward a future reservation.
Bill Richardson Transport World and Classic Motorcycle Mecca
Group Booking Discounts are available for groups of ten or more paying guests. Guests must purchase, visit and use the tickets on the same day. Please get in touch with us to learn more.
The Group Booking Discount is only available with prior notice. We require at least 24 hours’ notice prior to your visit.
Transport World reserves the right to offer Group Booking Discounts without prior notice, provided all guests in the group arrive and make payment at the same time.
When prepayment or prior bookings have been made, Transport World requires at least 7 working days’ notice if the booking is to be changed. If the booking is cancelled in part or in full, Transport World requires at least 30 days’ notice in order to receive a full refund.
If a cancellation is made within 30 days any refunds is at the discretion of Transport World and is not guaranteed.
Group bookings may be made for groups of 5 to 54 people. A fixed fee applies dependant on the numbers in the group.
Payment must be made in advance in order to secure all group bookings.
Retail Purchase Terms and Conditions
Within 14 days of delivery you may return any item you purchase in new condition with tags and labels for a full refund.
We will pay the return shipping cost if the return is the result of a Transport World error.
We will notify you via email of your refund once we have received and processed your returned item.
You can expect your refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within seven business days of our receiving your return.
Payment and Delivery Policy
Payment is expected at the time of purchase. We accept payment by cash, eftpos or credit card.
All credit card transactions will be processed immediately via Payment Express and your Bank.
The payment page is hosted by Payment Express and secured with Payment Express security and anti-fraud tools.
The card details you enter are safe because it is not stored or cached by us as the merchant, but entered directly into the banking system.
You will receive an instant confirmation of transaction approval or decline before being returned to our website.
Payment by invoice or cheque is by prior arrangement ONLY. If paying by invoice, please provide the account person’s name and email address. The invoice will be sent after your visit or event.
Postage costs will be determined and advised at the time of purchase and are additional to the cost of the goods and/or services purchased.
We will not deliver to a Post Office Box or any address in which we deem suspicious.
We ship our goods using New Zealand Post.
Within New Zealand you should expect your goods within seven working days. Overseas deliveries will vary depending on your shipping location.
