Meet Jim Murdoch
Jim Murdoch was the last of the drivers legendary race vehicle engineer George Begg trusted to get behind the wheel of vehicles built in his Drummond workshop.
We were lucky enough to entice Jim down to Teretonga Park for the first-ever George Begg Classic Speedfest.

It was fantastic to hear Jim reminisce about his - very fond - memories working with George Begg, who was honoured by the city of Invercargill for the first time in a weekend of retro racing. The same week, our brand new George Begg Bunker was opened at Classic Motorcycle Mecca.
During his time in Invercargill for our Begg celebrations, Jim was reunited with the second of the two vehicles he once raced for 'the big man', the Begg F5000 018. We got the chance to chat with Jim about his time constructing and racing in the 1974/75 and 1976/77 seasons.
