10,000 visitors in the first two months

2nd February 2016

The months of planning and building have all been worth it as visitors flock to see the newly developed Bill Richardson Transport World. The team behind the experience always knew there was an interest, but even they have been totally blown away by the support shown at this early stage. Operations Manager Sally McDonald says “It’s just amazing and we are really pleased with how it is all progressing and it’s awesome to see our visitors get such a kick out of the experience. I think visitor satisfaction is the thing we are most proud of as this has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Not just for truck enthusiasts either Transport World was consciously designed to have something for everyone and includes family play zones, wearable art fashion exhibits, theatre and themed rest rooms. This effort has been well received by visitors Sally McDonald says “the feedback from enthusiasts is usually pretty passionate and excitable. However, the response from non-enthusiasts has been fantastic with many saying they didn’t know a lot about trucks, or have a particular interest, but that they love our place which is really positive”.

Visitors were from a wide range of groups and places and many had travelled from far and wide to see the experience including the United States, United Kingdom, Belgium, China and Germany to name a few. Positive local support was also well reflected in the numbers.

There are a number of ways guests can experience Transport World. Open daily from 10.00am – 5.00pm visitors can purchase daily passes or take a 1 hour guided tour or premium guided tour which includes lunch in The Grille café. Locals or passionate enthusiasts who want to see as much of Transport World as often as they can, may also purchase an annual pass for $150.00. This pass allows unlimited access for 2 adults and 2 children to visit Transport World during the year.
