1964 Volkswagen Kombi flatbed pickup truck
Have you ever seen a vehicle, blending the iconic design and style of the Volkswagen Kombi with the practicality of a pickup truck?
(That’s a ute, to us Kiwis.)
Well, visit Bill Richardson Transport World for your chance to see this unusual little mashup for yourself.
The single-cab Volkswagen Type 2 (perhaps better known as a Volkswagen Kombi) pickup truck was launched all the way back in August 1952, after some adjustments were made to the van version the majority of us are more familiar with.
Marketing and advertising of this revolutionary new-look Volkswagen at the time boasted that ‘the VW pickup is absolutely flat: no wheel housing is in the way’.
“A must do in Invercargill. A lot of love and time has gone into this amazing place. Every truck you could imagine and more...”Cutherececil, Tauranga, NZ
