1915 Ford Model T Phaeton
The Ford Model T brought automobiles to the masses – it was the car that changed the world.
Henry Ford’s most successful model, with more than 15 million manufactured between 1908 and 1927, the Model T introduced the concept of the assembly line: the production process that sped up manufacturing, with increased efficiency resulting in lower price tags and thus greater accessibility to the average Joe.
With a four-cylinder engine, this 1915 Ford Model T Phaeton had a top speed of 45mph (or 72 kmph for we Antipodeans). It cost US$390 at the time of its arrival – the equivalent of about NZ$12,500 today.
“This is the life's work of a man who clearly loved restoring old vehicles. The collection is immense and wide ranging... I am not even that into old cars but absolutely loved this. Worth every cent.”
